Our Commitment to Education

Our orthodontists have a strong ongoing commitment to their personal continuing education in orthodontics and the education of all dental professionals. Joseph Bleakley and Angie Phelan are both certified by the Australian Orthodontic Board and provide cases regularly for orthodontist peer-review.

Joseph Bleakley has held the position of a Specialist Clinical Associate at the University of Sydney and continues to provide seminar support for the Postgraduate Orthodontic Program at the University of Queensland. Joe has also presented at numerous dental and specialist orthodontic meetings in recent years. 

Angie Phelan is committed to providing optimal patient care and believes that an interest in research in the field of orthodontics is fundamental for high-quality orthodontic practice. Angie has completed research at the University of Sydney and received the University of Sydney Research Presentation Award in 2010 and a Special Merit Award from the Australian Society of Orthodontists in 2011 for this work.

Their commitment and interest in continuing education has reinforced the need to perform evidence-based orthodontic treatment and refer to the best available evidence when formulating treatment plans and making treatment decisions.
